OUR HISTORY

In 1883, after purchasing the firm known as Peck & Tyler, a manufacturer of steam traction engines located in Jordan, New York, MACK BROS. Boiler & Sheet Iron Works was founded by James Lot Mack and moved to Syracuse, New York. James Lot Mack and his brother, George L. Mack, operating under a partnership, were engaged in the manufacturing of custom made steam boilers, unfired pressure vessels, smoke stacks, ducts, water and air receiver tanks, in conjunction with a boiler and unfired pressure vessel repair service.

After the death of George L. Mack and the retirement of James Lot Mack, the business was continued with George J. Mack, son of James Lot Mack, as the owner. In September of 1912 MACK BROS. Boiler & Sheet Iron Works incorporated under the laws of the State of New York, assuming the name of MACK BROS. Boiler & Sheet Iron Works Co., Inc. under the guidance of George J. Mack as president.

In 1964 George J. Mack passed away and the ownership and presidency of the firm was assumed by James L. Mack, the only son of George J. Mack. In 1985, after over 50 years of service, James L. Mack wished to retire, at which time the ownership and presidency was transferred to James G. Hueber, nephew of James L. Mack and grandson of George J. Mack.

Although business procedures, manufacturing processes and market characteristics have changed perceptively since the establishment of MACK BROS. over one hundred years ago, the services and product lines provided by the company have remained essentially the same, and will continue to remain as such in the foreseeable future. MACK BROS. now welcomes Andy Bartoszewski as the new President and CEO.
